A good base for the hinterland
The campground sits on a 6,000 acre property next to the World Heritage listed Mount Seaview Nature Reserve. The Oxley Highway runs through Cottan-Bimbang National Park nearby. Werrikimbe National Park's campgrounds are roughly an hour and a half away on forest roads. Back at camp there are guided 4WD and quad tours, the pool, the tennis court and very dark skies. On a clear night the Milky Way is right overhead.
Before you tow in
There is no fuel at the resort, so fill up in Wauchope or Walcha. Mobile coverage is Optus only. The resort is about 60 km from Wauchope on the sealed Oxley Highway. The highway is steep and winding on the range, so take your time with a van. See getting here for distances and road tips. If camping is not your thing, there are rooms from $70.
